>> Sun Microsystems finance chief Michael Lehman is leaving after 15 years with the company… 51-year-old Lehman will retire from full-time duties on July 1, when he will be replaced by Steve McGowan, now VP of finance, planning and administration for global sales operations… According to company statement, Lehman will take on teaching and mentoring part-time with Sun executives and businesses… Financially, Lehman did okay in 2001: earned $600,000, but no bonus . In 2000, Sun CFO made $623,077 in salary — plus $1.1 million bonus…

>> Online investor-relations company CCBN appointed Andrew Jones finance chief… Jones replaces Larry Begley… Begley will continue as a CCBN board member… Jones joins CCBN from Thomson Corp., where he served as the VP of finance for Thomson Financial… Previously, was internal audit manager at Joseph E. Seagram & Sons before rising to VP of audit. Was responsible for overseeing the sale of Seagram’s to Vivendi… .Before that, Jones served as CFO for Thomson Corp.’s Thomson Trading Services. While there, he directed major restructuring of the two Thomson Financial businesses… At Thomson, also held the positions of controller and assistant controller for Thomson Financial… Began career as audit manager at Price Waterhouse. At Boston-based CCBN, Jones will oversee internal and external financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and development of risk management procedures for safeguarding company assets.

Brooks most recently was partner at PwC, where he was in charge of global business process outsourcing group… Before that, was COO of Smartzero.com, Internet startup he founded in 1998… From 1993-1998, was SVP of logistics for EMI Music Group, North America… At PR Newswire will be responsible for helping secure capital to expand through acquisitions and organic growth…

>>Universal Access Global Holdings said CFO Bob Brown is leaving “to pursue other interests”… Chicago-based telecom-service provider named SVP of finance Donald Zyck Jr. acting CFO… Zyck with company since August 2000… Came to Universal Access from Mesirow Financial, where he was SVP and CFO of broker dealer division… Before that, was controller at privately held Cargill. Started out as auditor with the National Futures Association…

>>McLeodUSA Inc. announced that operating and financial chief Chris Davis was named chairman and CEO upon retirement of founder and current chairman Clark McLeodG. Kenneth Burckhardt, who previously worked with Davis at Gulfstream Aerospace, joined as executive VP, CFO, and a director… . McLeod been through rough patch recently… Because of recession, was forced to curtail plans of building national network. Also restructured and came out of Chapter 11. Recently cut 15 percent of workforce and consolidated operations.
