CFOs on the Move: Week Ending July 17

Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Columbia Laboratories, NJVC, Abraxis BioScience, AMN Healthcare, MDRNA, Actel, BIOLASE Technology.

Thomas Carter is the new head of finance at Nexstar BroadcastingGroup, effective August 3. He takes over from Shirley Green, who has been interim CFO since May. Previously, Carter was managing director, media telecom corporate investment banking, at Banc of America Securities.

Lawrence Gyenes has been named senior vice president, treasurer, and CFO of pharmaceutical company Columbia Laboratories Inc. He is a former senior vice president and CFO of Acusphere.

NJVC LLC, a provider of information technology solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense, has promoted Chris Andersen to the top finance spot. Andersen, who joined the firm earlier this year as vice president of finance, previously was controller at BearingPoint.

Biopharmaceutical company Abraxis BioScience Inc. has named Rick Rodgers senior vice president and CFO. Rodgers had been senior vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer at MGI Pharma until it was acquired by Eisai Corp.

AMN Healthcare Inc., a health-care staffing company, has appointed Bary Bailey to lead the finance function, effective August 10, succeeding David Dreyer. Most recently Bailey was executive vice president and CFO at Valeant Pharmaceuticals International.

Biotechnology company MDRNA Inc. has named Peter Garcia to the posts of CFO and secretary. He is a former CFO of Nanosys Inc.

Maurice Carson will become executive vice president and CFO of Actel Corp. on August 17. He comes to the company, a provider of system and power management solutions, from Kulicke & Soffa, where he served as vice president and CFO.

Dental laser company BIOLASE Technology Inc. has named Brett Scott to the top finance role. Scott most recently served as CFO at North American Scientific.
