CFOs on the Move: Week Ending Dec. 20

General Motors, Edwards Lifesciences, Puppet Labs, Seminole Energy, Allegheny Technologies, Johnny Rockets, DST Systems, Affinion, Hardinge, Nortec Systems

Dan Ammann, who leads the finance function at General Motors, has been named president. Ammann, who has been at GM since 2010, will keep his CFO responsibilities through the company’s filing of its fourth-quarter and year-2013 financial results in February.

Edwards Lifesciences has appointed Scott Ullem as corporate vice president and CFO. He replaces Thomas Abate, who said in May that he would retire. Previously, Ullem was finance chief at Bemis.

IT-automation software provider Puppet Labs has selected Bill Koefoed to head finance. Most recently, he was CFO of the Skype division at Microsoft; before that, he was general manager of investor relations for the software giant.

Seminole Energy Services has named Dan Hawk to the top finance spot. Formerly, he led the finance function at Davis Petroleum.

Patrick DeCourcy has been appointed CFO and senior vice president, finance, at Allegheny Technologies. DeCourcy, who joined the firm in 1988, has been interim CFO since July.

Restaurant franchiser Johnny Rockets has named Chad Hope to lead the finance function. Most recently, he headed finance at FSC Franchise.

Information-processing software and services provider DST Systems has promoted Gregg Givens to the posts of CFO and treasurer, effective Jan. 1. He replaces Kenneth Hager, who is retiring. Givens has been chief accounting officer for the past 14 years.

Gregory Miller has been appointed finance chief of Affinion Group, effective Jan. 20. He takes over from Mark Gibbens, who will leave the company by the end of this month. Miller, who worked at Affinion Group from 1999 through 2011, rejoins the firm from The Madison Square Garden Co., where he is senior vice president financial planning and divisional operations.

Hardinge has named Douglas Malone to the top finance spot. Previously, he was corporate controller at the computer-controlled machine tools designer and manufacturer.

Paula Graff has been promoted to finance chief at Nortech Systems, effective Jan. 1. Most recently, she was director of finance at the electronics manufacturing services provider.
